Predator-Prey Dynamics

The Lotka-Volterra equations model population cycles: dPrey/dt = αP − βPQ, dPred/dt = δβPQ − γQ. Prey grow exponentially but are consumed by predators. Predator populations grow when food is abundant but decline when prey is scarce. This creates natural oscillation cycles.
